There are several bars and restaurants close to the old harbour where you can relax and watch the astounding sunsets, and the views from El Toston (the tower) are stunning. The Tolsten was built by the Spanish as a lookout point for spotting English pirates. Just a couple of miles to the north of El Cotillo there is a lighthouse which is also a fishing museum, a great destination for an afternoon stroll.

There are miles of golden beaches here and even on a busy day they are too big to be overcrowded. To the north are the lagoon beaches of shallow clear water and white sand contrasting against the black volcanic rock. The biggest of the beaches, La Concha, has a large car park and a beach bar. It is very popular with locals and tourists alike. The smaller lagoon beaches are favourite places for naturists. There are even more beautiful beaches to the north of the lighthouse.

El Cotillo is about 20mins drive from Corralejo, its wonderful Sand Dunes and breath taking beaches where you can practice Scuba diving, Windsurf, Kitesurf and many other water and beach sports. Corralejo has a 24hour private clinic and dentist as well as a Medical Centre (Centro de Salud) that offer a 24 hour emergency service.
